Declutter Now, Before You Sell Your Home

When you have called somewhere your home for a while, it can be really hard emotionally to move out, whether you feel ready for the move or not. The problem with pre-move decluttering – or just decluttering in general – is that people often find that it’s harder than they imagined and letting go is very hard to do. Less clutter means less stuff for you to pack up and move, which will lower your cost of moving, and less stuff to unpack or clutter up your new home.
There are two types of clutter:-

1. Genuine clutter that doesn’t belong in the space, either because its out of place, or because it is rubbish.

2. Items that you want to keep but that don’t work for your sale (and you don’t need them until after the sale)

Start small & choose one area at a time. If you attempt to organize your entire home in a day, you’ll end up fatigued and frustrated. Instead, choose one area to focus on. And before you start putting things in boxes to move, it makes sense to go through everything you own first and get rid of what you don’t want anymore. You’ll likely have some belongings hiding in the back of your closets and cabinets. The goal is to pare down everything you no longer feel joyful about, want, or need so that everything you own fits into its own space. Keep in mind a home with less, rather than more, inside it is going to be easier to sell every time.
