To help you prepare for tax season, be on the lookout for mail containing your “Form 1098: Mortgage Interest Statement” from your mortgage servicing company. This statement will detail the amount of mortgage interest and mortgage insurance you paid for the year.
You’ll need to provide this form to your tax preparer to be factored into how you file. Note that most lenders print “important tax documents enclosed” on the envelope.
