How to write a good property listing description

Here we’ll cover the key points of writing your property description.
First, you will need a headline- The headline is the attention-grabber. Many buyers searching for a home will just flip through the headlines of a listing. Therefore, you have about one line and 2 seconds to grab their attention. Buyers want to quickly find out about your home. They don’t want to read a 2 page story so keep it short and stick to the facts. Great listing descriptions are not too wordy. Get right to the point.

• Pack all the details in one paragraph, Avoid words and phrases that could violate the Fair Housing rules, highlight the features. Mention the facts about the home that will appeal to buyers. State what the buyer cannot see in the pictures, and try not to repeat what is already highlighted in the listing if space is a concern.
• Use descriptive words that entice the buyer to learn more.
• Highlight amenities and neighborhood features.
• Don’t use all caps.

Remember, your listing description will be on social media posts, and on flyers so the description must captivate your home’s strengths and make lasting impression- Once you’re done writing the listing description read out loud what you wrote and lookout for typos.
